In Our School...

Welcome

Welcome to St Joseph's Catholic Primary School, a Voluntary Academy.

On behalf of the children, staff and governors of St. Joseph’s Catholic Primary School, a voluntary Academy, we welcome you to our website. We hope you find it both useful and interesting.

Mission Statement

“Welcome one another, just as Christ has welcomed you” Romans 15:7

St. Joseph’s is a welcoming school where

Christ is at the heart of our mission.

Together we aim to nurture and inspire children to develop their unique potential, through Gospel values, in a caring, learning environment.

At St Joseph’s, we grow and learn in an inclusive and safe place where friendship and love are found in the family, the church and the school.

We encourage each other to ‘Be the best that we can be’.

Information is constantly updated so please visit the site regularly.

The school was opened in 1970 and has around 220 pupils aged 3-11 years. We have a Foundation Unit for both Foundation 1 and Foundation 2 children and 6 classes; class 1 & 2 are KS1 and classes 3,4,5 & 6 are KS2.

We serve Retford and the surrounding area, providing a distinctive Catholic High Quality Education. Our school works alongside local schools and the family of Catholic schools in Doncaster.  This follows the principles of the Trust Deed to support Catholic Primary Schools, working together in an endeavour to secure the highest possible Catholic Education for all children.

At St Joseph’s we have a strong Catholic ethos, which permeates all areas of school life and is celebrated through the masses, liturgies and prayers that take place both in school and in our local parish church.  We provide children with a faith tradition rooted in the values of church and family.

Our school has an open door policy, which welcomes everyone and celebrates the best in all children.  We encourage children to be the ‘best that they can be’ in every way, throughout every day.

I hope you enjoy visiting our website and join us in celebrating your children’s achievements.
