Welcome to our Governors’ section. 


Please find below details of how our St Joseph's Governing body is structured, including the names, categories, responsibilities and terms of appointment for each Governor.


We have also provided a Register of Governor Interests and an Annual Statement of Issues for your information.

 

We will inform the community of parents when / if a vacancy for a parent governor becomes available.  We inform our parish priest when / if a foundation governor vacancy become available, he in turn approaches members of the parish community.

Governors of St Joseph’s

The governing body of St. Joseph’s is made up of 5 foundation governors, 1 head teacher governor, 1 parent elected governor and 1 associate governor appointed by the foundation governors.  Foundation Governors form the majority of governors on a Catholic school’s governing body.  In primary schools the parish priest nominates and appoints the Foundation Governors. They have the responsibility of assisting the Bishop, by sustaining and developing the catholic ethos and distinctive catholic nature of the school in which they serve.
