We are planning to build a timber outdoor classroom environment on the edge of our school field. This will be used by children, parents and our local community both during and out of school time. Discussions with the children have taken place with many ideas and thoughts generated. Our Extended Services co-ordinator, Bev Fullwood, and members of the School Association have supported us to date and plans for the new outdoor classroom are now finalised and available to see outside the school kitchen on the display board. So far a great deal of hard work has taken place with the support of our architect, Ivan Bradder, a grandparent of school; who has supported with planning, permissions and many ideas. We now have all the necessary plans in place to proceed with our outdoor building, which will be constructed in the summer holidays.
We are currently raising funds to build the outdoor classroom, which will cost in the region of £18,000. We have applied to the Lottery for funding and gratefully received £10,000. Our school association have raised £5,000 including a funding bid received for £2,500 from the NatWest bank. Leaves £3000 left to raise.
We would like to raise further funding over the next two terms to support the costs and are asking children to carry out sponsored activities to reach the target figure. Please help us!
Our School Association will be carrying out some fundraising activities over the next few weeks and your support is welcome!
We will display a funding meter near the school notice board to show our journey to reach the target figure. Please take a look at the school notice board (outside the kitchen) for more detailed information.
Thank you for your support
