Over the past year we have been planning the construction of an Our Outdoor Classroom for St Joseph's Catholic Primary School. The classroom is planned to be used both in and out of school time. Teaching assistants will use the space to run interventions with children and teachers will encourage greater outdoor learning in school. It will also be used after school for clubs such as our new Lego club and before school for a parent / child reading area. Our school association also aim to use the Outdoor Classroom, which will encourage further collaboration and parent involvement in school.
The Outdoor Classroom has been built over the summer holidays and early part of the Autumn term and is now complete and ready for the children to use. All the children in school are very excited about the prospect of using the new facility.
We would like to thank all those involved in its creation by holding a an Official Opening after the half term holidays on Wednesday 2nd November in the morning from 8:50am (the start of the school day) onwards. Everyone is welcome to congregate on the school playground for the official opening. There will be various activities taking place in the classroom over the morning and refreshments will be served in the school hall from 9:10am onwards. Please come along and help us celebrate. Thank you for your continued support.
