Bad Weather or Heavy Snow
In the event of disruption caused by bad weather or heavy snow the prime concern of the school must always be the safety of the pupils and staff. The decision to close the school will take account of the safety of all our pupils and staff, some of whom travel a great distance to school each day.
If heavy snow falls overnight and continues into the following day, parents are asked to observe the following procedures. Until you are informed otherwise the school will remain open.
Procedures for school closure due to bad weather;
We will send out a text to parents (first contacts) to inform about school closures.
The Head Teacher will contact TraxFM http://www.traxfm.co.uk/ to ask them to broadcast the information of a school closure. Information will also be placed on their homepage under ‘school closures’ and on the school’s website http://www.st-josephs.notts.sch.uk, which we ask parents to check for updates.
If the school is closing during the school day please arrange to collect your child.
The decision as to whether or not to send a pupil to school, however, must be at the discretion of the parents, taking into account factors such as local road conditions and the availability of child-care.
The school will keep you informed of any changes.
